From skwigg's journal:
I learned a new term, which is probably proof that I've been spending too much time on YouTube. I normally bristle at labels but this one describes a state of being so well. NARP - a non-athletic regular person. This was not used in a derogatory way at all, more like, "After years of grueling competition and strict dieting, I happily lived the life of a NARP for a few months." I think I like it because I have some NARP tendencies, like quitting the gym, prioritizing naps, and swooning over tater tot casserole recipes. Tupperware-toting, clean-eating, gym rat me could not have imagined this state of affairs. And yet I'm happier and healthier now that I've quit trying to live like a professional athlete for no damn reason.
