From skwigg's journal:
What makes a treat awesome and worth it for me:
- anticipated
- exactly what I want
- a special surprise or nice gesture from someone
- eaten when hungry
- eaten in a relaxed setting when I have time to appreciate and savor
- a satisfying, just-right portion whether that's one amazing bite or a substantial serving
- rich, premium, full-fat, high-quality
- bonus points for nostalgic all-time favorites like M&Ms and Ben & Jerry's
What makes a treat "meh" or not worth it to me:
- not at all hungry
- anything eaten quickly or while distracted or stressed
- conference room food at work that's been sitting out all day and/or licked or sneezed upon
- weird fake ice cream or baked goods with long ingredient lists and creepy texture (cheap ice cream, "soft baked" packaged cookies, chocolate cream pie with no actual chocolate or cream in the ingredients)
- artificial sweetener or healthy substitutions (protein powder, applesauce for oil, brownies with beans in them, etc.. No. Just, no.)
