Most of the “advice” we see online is classic diet culture nonsense, someone projecting their own fears and issues. People eat it up only because they have the same insecurities. We want to believe some random blogger is going to have THE answer that solves all of our food, weight, and body problems. But think about it. Has that ever happened? Or do you just get on board for a few days or weeks, watch it backfire, and then give up or start looking for the next expert with a plan?
Once you recognize diet noise for what it is, it stops feeling important and starts looking more like litter, like it's a beautiful day and then some garbage blows by. You don't engage with it unless it's to put it in a trash can and move on. You certainly don't pick it up and read it, smell it, lick it, take it with you, and think about it the rest of the day. Right?!
That's how I treat diet advice these days. It's not the answer to anything. It's a spilled trash can.
