Mottainai, I am taking your permission and running with it Your experience really gives me some confidence to play and enjoy things!! I think part of it is, I get my little brain wrapped up in the mindset that I must follow a program to reach my physique goals. (I definitely would like to recomp a bit more and lean out.) And for a long time now the message that I keep seeing reverberated is you must lift heavy and/or intensely until your dying day to look like X. I'm still learning to let go of that thinking. Not because I think resistance training doesn't change body comp and do amazing things for body, mind and spirit. But it doesn't have to always be heavy, intense, or high volume to still affect changes and bring benefits. Right? Anyway, it's taking some work to let my mindset soften and change a bit after 6 years of having the guarantee of a program promising we will reach our goals if we follow it.
And I'm relieved to know you didn't sprout a third eye. haha!
